The Opportunity

Up against major competitors like Google’s Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku was a lesser known name in Canada, requiring a strategic brand awareness strategy to become a household name among Canadians.

As strategists, we had to find a way to position Roku as the leading TV streaming platform through a 360 approach.

What We Did

Through media relations, we engaged key Canadian media outlets throughout the year highlighting Roku entertainment titles and platform features.

Along with social media & influencer relations encouraged audience growth and awareness, Roku Canada social media channels were amplified through organic content and paid advertising.

Lastly, event marketing that hosted media at the premiere for Roku’s first original movie release filmed in Canada – complemented by a strategic partnership with DoorDash Canada to create a larger impact for a key Roku launch.
