Studies show that people who take part in extra-curricular activities are better problem-solvers and more creative. So, throughout the year we’ll be sharing what we like to do in our spare time.

Account manager Katie Boland talks about her Thanksgiving dinner with her family in Gananoque, Ontario.

Growing up from Oshawa and living in Toronto I’ve always considered the Greater Toronto Area home. However, my partner’s family is from Gananoque. For long weekends we usually take the opportunity to get out of town and relax in the country at my partner’s parents house on Gananoque lake.

Some of my favourite memories from the weekend include going for a hike to see the neighbours, winning Scrabble against our mothers and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs with our fathers.

Gananoque is known as a summer city for the Thousand Islands filled with tourist motels and boat cruises. When we visit we try to squeeze in a casino visit and a pizza from Milano’s.
