Walmart Canada: Trick-or-treating with commuters

Walmart Canada came to APEX Public Relations when they wanted help creating awareness about this season’s hottest Halloween costume accessory: inflatable wings.

We flew into action by creating an activation campaign that would show off the new wings while giving customers a surprise worth talking about.

We brought the Halloween experience directly to commuters at key transit hubs across the Greater Toronto Area including GO Transit Stations in Burlington, Brampton, Oshawa and Richmond Hill.

Dressed up as spooky and fun Halloween characters, the APEX teams greeted commuters as they waited for their trains, to some early trick-or-treating by handing out peanut-free Halloween candy, distributing flyers and helping customers understand that Walmart offers everything they need for Halloween fun.

The activation event across four locations resulted in the distribution of 9,000 Walmart Halloween-themed flyers right into the hands of customers.
