Back-to-school is a big deal for retailers and their customers with kids. We’ve worked with Walmart Canada in the past and have done great things, but we are always trying to cook up something bigger and better.
So, focusing on making the back-to-school shop simple and affordable for moms, last year’s Walmart campaign focused on a few key communications tactics:
- Media relations and influencer partnerships around the Snack Report, an online guide of quick and easy solutions for school snacks
- In-house back-to-school preview
- Apparel lookbook of all the back-to-school essentials
To make sure the message was spread far and wide, APEX collaborated with SAY Media to develop digital syndication for the content. This ensured an extended reach for the lookbook and Snack Report. The content distribution integrated the brand experience authentically, and was successful in inspiring consumers beyond walmart.ca. The syndication also provided a detailed look into how Canadians were engaging with the content.
With increase sales and foot traffic to Walmart stores, we feel confident in saying this year’s campaign was more influential than the last. We’re looking forward to what next year’s back-to-school season has in store!
