1. What person, topic or hashtag do you follow religiously?

“I follow the other parenting gurus @MicheleBorba and @BarbaraColoroso who espouse democratic parenting principles have been in this field enlightening parents since I started. They are my mentors.

I also love @zen_habits because of my personal and clinical work using mindfulness practices.

@JessLahey and @DrPriceMitchell and @AlfieKohn are great for current research and newsworthy issues.

#Parenting is busy hashtag, but most everything you need is in there, if you don’t mind sorting through.”

2. Why do you follow those?

“There are lots of parenting experts and mommy bloggers out there, however, I look for quality sources. My work is more academic in nature.

I am looking for sound and solid information from people who are credentialed and who also share a common mindset about raising children without the use of punishments and rewards (aka tiger mom) and yet, not as permissive / child-centered as most attachment practitioners.

I am looking for those who follow an Adlerian, positive psychology, democratic or humanistic parenting approach.”

3. Why should others follow those?

“If you want great parenting resources, tips, current events and research in parenting via respectful (both firm AND friendly) methods – these should be a great start!”
