Curiosity and ongoing learning are key requirements at our agency. Studies show that people who continue to learn as professionals are better problem-solvers, more creative and tend to enjoy their jobs more so that’s a bonus. This month we are sharing our go-to professional resources at APEX PR and ruckus Digital.
Feeding off what I spoke about recently in this blog post, one of the things that has always served me well in my career (and in my life) is curiosity and an ongoing desire to keep learning. Part of that includes keeping up-to-date with local and world events, news and perspectives.
Here are a few sources that I often go to, to help inform my curiosity and stay in tune with the world around me:
The Globe and Mail ROB | From economic news and trends to real estate insights, the Globe and Mail and particularly the ROB have been go-to sources for me – their journalists are top-notch, and the publication consistently has insightful, credible and well-informed content.
Twitter| Twitter is the first place I scroll in the morning for breaking news. I will typically go to my favourite news handles including CBC, CP24 (for local news) and Globe and Mail for up to date snapshots of current news and events.
Friends/family| Between catching up on the latest celebrity dramas or talking current events with my friends and family – I learn a great deal. An excellent resource for new insights and different perspectives.
