1. What is the biggest surprise/change you’ve seen in your industry in the past year?

“Over the past year the biggest change I’ve seen is the popularity of skin oils with high-end skincare brands. I think that average consumer used to be so afraid, thinking that they would make the skin greasy, but now consumers can’t seem to get enough!”

2. Who is a true disrupter or game changer in your opinion? Why?

“I would have to say the brand Rodial. For those who don’t know, this is a U.K. based brand that was founded in 1999 by Maria Hatzistefanis.

The skincare line was designed to bridge the gap in the market between scientific and more natural based skincare products. In my opinion, they use really unique ingredients and they always push the envelope. After being an official partner in the goodie bags at the Oscars in 2005, Rodial has become a favourite amongst A-list Hollywood celebrities and myself!”

3. What app or technology do you rely on most day-to-day? Why?

“I use Twitter to keep up with different beauty bloggers and developments in beauty industry. Instagram is my go-to for new brand launches, techniques and how-to tutorials. I would find it hard to be limited to one social channel because they each offer such different information and in different ways.”

4. What don’t you want to see carried over in 2015? 

“I’m not the biggest fan of glitter nail polishes, especially not for 2015… I think those have had their day!”

5. What are you most excited about for 2015?

“There is so much to look forward to this year with beauty trends and innovative new products. One that I’m most excited about is coming from L’Oreal Paris. The beauty brand is coming out with an innovative new nail polish this spring that I’m really excited for!”
